How to Get More Leads From Your Website
Leads are the lifeblood of any business.
If you are able to convert enough leads into customers your business will thrive. On the other hand, if leads dry up or your cannot convert them, you company is likely to fail.
Driving more leads and customers online doesn’t have to be complex.
In fact, it’s actually fairly easy.
You see, there are only two key things which need to be done. These are steadily growing your traffic and then increasing the amount of visitors who convert into customers.
Let’s take a brief look at these two key points:
1. Increase Traffic
“Traffic”, can be described as anyone who visits your website.
You can compare it to the amount of visitors a shop receives. Traffic is basically the amount of people who come into your, “Store” on a daily basis. And to increase your leads and customers you obviously have to increase the amount of people who enter into your virtual store.
The more people who you have coming to your site, the greater your chances of converting a certain percentage of those people into either leads or customers. The reason for this is because only a certain amount of people will convert into customers – usually between 1-5%
And it’s for this reason that you should be trying to push as much traffic as you can towards your website.
The list of ways to increase your traffic are literally endless.
They range from boosting your search engine rankings to buying paid ads on Google and other websites, or even advertising your site offline.
2. Increase Conversion Rate
The second thing you must do in order to increase your leads and customers is increase your conversion rate. The conversion rate is basically the amount of people who visit your site, who then turn into customers.
By increasing this figure you will ultimately increase your numbers of leads and customers.
There are dozens of ways to do this! Most importantly is redesigning your website. Your website needs to encourage your web traffic to engage. Engagment can be anything from filling in a contact form, leaving their email or phone number or sharing your content via social media. By making your website easier to engage with visitors are much more likely to respond to contact forms, send inquires or reach check-out. Thus generating leads to follow up on and creating sales opportunities.
Additionally improving your web copy and making your products more attractive to customers will keep visitors interested, in turn making them much more likely to engage. (Being selective in your traffic generation method will also increase this figure.)
At the end of the day these two things are all that matter when trying to drive more leads and customers online.
Simply increase the amount of traffic to your site and then focus on your conversion rate and you will ultimately boost your leads and customers.
One final thing you should note is that these two topics are actually inverse to one another.
For example, the more traffic you can get the lower your conversion rates need to be. And the higher your conversion rate, the less traffic you’ll have to drive to your website to generate leads.
If you’re planning on redesigning or developing your website it is essential you keep these two points at the forefront of your mind throughout the entire process.
